Los Angeles, CA — A deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) was hospitalized Sunday night after a serious T-bone collision, authorities confirmed.

According to LASD, the crash occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. near Central Avenue and Helmick Street when an unidentified deputy was struck by another vehicle. At the time of the incident, the deputy was responding to a call for service under non-emergency conditions, meaning no lights or sirens were in use.

The impact hit the driver’s side of the patrol car, causing the vehicle’s airbags to deploy. Officials did not immediately disclose the deputy’s condition but confirmed they were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
