Fillmore, CA – A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a Super A Foods grocery store in Fillmore, causing an estimated $100,000 in damages, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Fire at Super A Foods Sparks Arson Investigation
Authorities responded to a fire at the rear of the store around 12:30 a.m. on Monday. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the fire severely damaged a generator, leading investigators to suspect foul play.
After gathering evidence at the scene, arson investigators identified the suspect as Jose Vasquez, a Fillmore resident. Deputies later found Vasquez in the 400 block of Blaine Street and took him into custody. Additional evidence was recovered linking him to the crime.

Suspect Booked on Felony Arson Charges
Vasquez has been charged with one count of felony arson and was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility with bail set at $50,000.
