Washington, D.C. – The White House reaffirmed President Donald Trump’s stance on Iran, stating that his position remains clear and unchanged.

During a press briefing on Friday evening, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed a question regarding the U.S. administration’s policy toward Iran. Responding to a query from Newsmax, Leavitt stated, “I believe the President has made his stance on Iran absolutely clear.”

Trump’s Position on Iran and Nuclear Talks

President Trump has previously claimed that by the end of his first term, he was “just a week away” from finalizing a deal with Iran. He remains confident that he can negotiate an agreement ensuring “absolute certainty that Iran will never acquire nuclear weapons.”

Emphasizing his commitment, Trump stated, “I will never allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons. There are ways to be absolutely sure of this—if you secure an agreement, you must verify ten times over.”

Regional Implications and Gaza Ceasefire Talks

Leavitt also addressed regional tensions, specifically regarding the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. She reiterated that President Trump had warned Hamas and other Iran-backed militant groups that they would face consequences if ceasefire discussions did not progress.

Her remarks followed reports that Israel agreed to a ceasefire and prisoner exchange due to the inability to achieve its stated objectives.

Iran’s Response and Official Position

Iran has consistently maintained that nuclear weapons “have no place in its defense doctrine.” Iranian officials have reiterated that their nuclear program is solely for peaceful energy purposes.

The reaffirmation of Trump’s Iran policy signals continued geopolitical tensions, with implications for diplomatic efforts and security strategies in the Middle East.
